Lilian Rosemary Glen met William Harwick Hall when they were students at Glasgow School of Art around 1957. After graduating in 1959 they simultaneously started careers as up and coming jewellery designers that were by pure chance, in neighbouring firms in Hatton Gardon in London. They married in Hackney in 1960 and barely left each other’s side thereafter, until mum sadly died in 2002. Rosemary, as she was known, didn’t enjoy good health all her life but she returned to making jewellery for a short time during the 1990s. Her designs are much more feminine but nonetheless attractive.

She was presented an award for her designwork by then PM Harold McMillan’s wife, Margaret, at Goldsmiths Hall London in 1960.
