At the end of his career, Bill started adding 18 carat gold detail to his silver jewellery. Most of this later work was sold through Clarksons of Edinburgh, where some pieces were further embellished with small fine cut diamonds.
He sold in galleries and small craft shops up and down the UK including Hugo Barclay in Brighton and Roger Billcliffe Gallery Glasgow. He said that it was important to him to be able to always have work for sale in Glasgow because he trained at Glasgow School of Art.
